Sanquhar Castle

Sanquhar Castle

Sanquhar Castle was built by the Crichton family in the 13th century. During its history it was visited by notable figures including Robert the Bruce, William Wallace, Edward I, Mary, Queen of Scots, and James VI.

The castle is supposedly haunted by a White Lady with golden-coloured hair. Some have felt a touch of an icy hand on the backs of their necks whilst exploring the ruins, to turn around and see her nearby. How unsettling!
